We are looking for a Director, Data Architecture & Reporting! This role is responsible for developing and delivering on strategic application and business intelligence initiatives in partnership with Technology and Data Governance. This role will also have primary architecture and engineering responsibilities for our client's Labor and Affiliate Billing program built on the Azure cloud. The Director must be able to effectively communicate with both technical and business end-users, and be highly proficient in the technical architecture, design, and development of enterprise datasets in a DevOps framework.

Responsibilities:

• Partners with FP&A and IT management to define and implement allocation calculation engine and analytics capabilities using modern data platforms.
• Configures, modifies, and streamlines data pipelines for ingestion and transformation from internal sources using Azure SQL, Data Factory, Data Bricks (Python Notebooks), Synapse Analytics data integration flows, and data lake storage.
• Architects and implements consumption layer for defined paginated and dynamic reporting using combination of Synapse Analytics EDW, Azure Analysis Services, Serverless Queries, and Power BI.
• Program management responsibilities on all FP&A technology initiatives, including oversight over project management reporting, functional and technical specifications, risk and issue identification.
• Works with Infrastructure team to develop CI/CD pipeline capability for allocation solution and ensures traceability from requirements, development, and deployment in Azure DevOps.
• Ensures automated QA testing incorporated into DevOps deployment lanes.
• Partners with Application Development team and 3rd party resources to architect and implement a front-end system to manage model configuration parameters and replace flat file-based inputs as data source for allocation model.
• Works with Data Governance and Information Technology management to define enterprise data strategy leveraging lessons from optimization of allocation engine data platform and best practices for modern cloud-based analytics.
• Works closely with business stakeholders to identify business process issues in combination with technology optimization. Defines technology solutions that maximize efficiency and align with corporate data governance standards and technology and business roadmaps.
• Develops a deep understanding of Real Estate finance and associated business drivers. Performs business analysis through compiling and analyzing data.
• Ensures smooth every day running of assigned technology platforms, monitoring that SLAs are met and that quality targets are reached and maintained.
• Takes a proactive approach in trying to assess system utilization from user perspective and generate solutions even before the issues are raised by the end-users.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or related work experience
• A track record of highly impactful work at prior companies, including both as a manager and as an individual contributor.
• 8+ years of experience in a data- focused role with 3+ years of management experience in either a data engineering or data infrastructure type role, working on projects related to data architecture, data modeling, or data management.
• 3+ years working on Cloud Data lakes and Datawarehouse solutions like Snowflake/Databricks.
• Deep knowledge of industry best practices in data and analytics.
• Experience with managing analytics teams in an Agile environment
• Experience with client facing activities such as requirements gathering, meeting facilitation, and deliverable review/approval sessions
• Significant practical experience with how often complex systems that produce data can go wrong and demonstrates proactive initiative towards helping the team produce high quality datasets.
• Experience with agile project management tools (Jira/Confluence, Azure DevOps, Asana, etc.) using DevOps principles including CI/CD.
• Expertise in engineering and supporting a cloud application developer operating environment and DevOps practice in an enterprise.
• Dynamic and adaptive in understanding complex financial and technical concepts. Knowledge of accounting and business process in real estate or alternative asset / investment management a plus.
• Experience with financial planning and modelling platforms such as Anaplan, Workday Adaptive Planning, Oracle EPM, or Oracle Hyperion Planning a plus.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact professionally with a diverse group: executives, managers, subject matter experts, and software developers.
• Excellent in interpreting needs, absorbing statistics from 360-view, devising short/long-term goals and roadmaps, and driving results.
• Azure data role-based certifications a plus.
• Demonstrated understanding of Project Management Methodology (PMM) fundamentals and business process analysis

• Expert-level experience with SQL (10 years+ in production relational database environments of any type).
• Must be fluent in Python, Pandas, Numpy, Spark for data ingestion and transformation.
• Demonstrated working knowledge in Microsoft SQL Server, database tuning, data modeling, and BI/Analytics tools (PowerBI, Tableau).
• Expert grasp of DAX and data models in PowerBI, extending source system data via custom calculated columns. Experience designing and publishing data models for widespread use.
• Strong experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), PowerBI Paginated reports and delivering pixel-perfect reports.
• 5+ years' experience with column store data warehouses - platforms such as Snowflake, Teradata, Redshift, BigQuery, or similar.
• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of necessary tools for analytics on cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. e.g., S3, Athena, IAM, networking configuration and management, etc.
• Experience in cloud object storage and understanding of concepts and cost.
• Strong understanding of technical integration mediums (SFTP/flat file, APIs (REST, SOAP, GraphQL)).
• Proficient in creating and working with advanced VBA-Excel models and array-based formulae such as XLOOKUP, INDEX(MATCH), and condition-based aggregations (SUMIF, COUNTIF).
