    Elite Aluminum Medical Design Engineer

    All of our utility systems and medical equipment are monitored and controlled through advanced system automation.  Electricity, potable water and medical gas generation systems are built-in along with communication, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC), air filtration, sanitary waste and decontamination systems.

    ROLE SUMMARY/PURPOSE – Elite Aluminum is in search of a MEDICAL DESIGN ENGINEER to run and oversee all aspects of the FORTS Medical operation.   Primary work will be performed in Coconut Creek, Florida but this position will require travel, close supervision and problem resolution at all of our deployment sites.  The Medical Design Engineer will take on a pivotal role in our continued growth and ability to meet ever expanding requirements in mobile hospitals, disaster response and medical preparedness. 

    The Medical Design Engineer coordinates an organization-wide program to insure the effective deployment, integration and support of interconnected medical systems.

    KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Experience in designing hospital support systems to include: power requirements; determine and calculate electrical requirements for a large scale mobile medical facility. Water supply: Experience and knowledge in water filtration and purification to include biological waste management and EPA requirements.  Oxygen formulation to include medical air systems and distribution.  Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) specifications.
    • Experience with disaster medicine, disaster medical operations, and military medicine.
    • In-depth technical knowledge of clinical technology (i.e., devices and systems) used in clinical specialties along with an understanding of the related clinical practices.

    ·         Abilit to design and assist in the manufacture of mobile hospitals, medical structures, support trailers and power units.

    ·         Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field of Medical Design Engineering.

    ·         5+ years of experience in the field of Medical Clinical Engineering and information systems.

    ·         Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as problem-solving skills in dealing with high level customers. 

    ·         Experience in designing, set-up, test, and inspect of mobile hospitals and all support apparatus.

    ·         Certification (completed or in process) preferred in one or more of the following:

      • Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE)
        • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) by (ISC)2
        • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Network Professional (CCNP)
        • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or Engineer (MCSE).
    • In-depth knowledge of Joint Commission, Occupation, Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and other applicable standards and regulations.
    • Experience in delivering multiple complex projects.

    ·         Strong leadership and motivational skills in directing mobilizable medical support assets.

    ·         Must have good organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.

    ·         Project Management skills a must.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, walk, stand, sit, bend, reach with hands and arms, climb, push/pull, use hands, and see, hear and speak.
    • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
