Job brief:

We are looking for a Logistics Account Specialist to help secure and manage the shipment of our clients’ freight from pick up to delivery. You will be responsible for negotiating and locking in the best rates on each load booked. You will collaborate with the Logistics Account Coordinator ensuring careful follow up until deliveries are complete. This role is essential for establishing and upholding our brand as we strive to continue to innovate industry standards and enhance service levels.

Duties

Maintain a knowledge of the transit industry focusing on market trends

Responsible for establishing relationships that create an opportunity to expand our client and carrier base

Communicate load availability to drivers within our carrier network to attract potential shippers

Using judgement and industry knowledge to negotiate rates and secure carriers/drivers for freight delivered to our clients nationally and internationally

Create competitive bids and secure freight from spot market

Meticulously follow up throughout the delivery process on any freight shipments secured

Use critical problem-solving skills to provide problem resolution for carriers/clients

New carrier procurement

Manage day to day freight operations ensuring our loads are delivered with these points in mind:

Skills and Requirements:

Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment

Strong multi-tasking skills, ability to field high call volume while on computer

Ability to work a rotating schedule

Meticulous follow up skills with a relentless attitude to be the best

Exceptional negotiation abilities

Experience in logistics is a plus

Preferred - 4-year degree from an accredited university
