Elysium is looking for a staff writer to help share the company's mission, product campaigns, and the scientific rigor with which the company takes care to develop, test, and bring to market its products with the outside world. The role requires a unique combination of marketing and journalism, consumer health and science, and branding and content, and will draw on cross-functional skill sets daily. You will report to the VP of Communications and Brand Marketing, and collaborate with the broader creative, marketing, and scientific teams.

Elysium is science-first, and brings its mission and vision to people by meeting them where they are: across a number of platforms and a variety of mediums. We want to be the trusted brand and source of health and science information for our growing community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Write website, social, advertising, and email copy that explains products and ongoing company initiatives 
• Adapt scientific studies, papers, and processes into content that appeals to the general public
• Learn and maintain a working knowledge of FDA and FTC regulations for supplement manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies 
• Work with the Director of Scientific Content to manage an editorial calendar under the direction of the VP of Communications and Brand Marketing
• Act as researcher, writer, and editor for a variety of materials aimed at multiple audiences. This can include but is not limited to fact-checking content, writing stories for the newsletter, ghostwriting articles, copyediting, etc. 
• There will also be an opportunity to do original reporting, write stories of varying degrees of complexity, and work on video and photo shoots

REQUIREMENTS

• A genuine interest in health and science
• A record of academic and professional achievement 
• The ability to write about any topic with style, authority, and precision 
• Minimum of three years experience working in editorial and copywriting, including writing, reporting, editing, ad copy and other marketing materials, and working in a CMS (e.g., WordPress)
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal 
• Agility with new approaches, platforms, and concepts 
• Academic and/or professional background in science is preferred but not required
