OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

The Manager, Accounts Receivable is responsible for building and sustaining a team, managing change, people, systems, and processes specific to accounts receivable, billing, and collections. In addition, the Accounts Receivable Manger is charged with developing and implementing policies, procedures, and best practices; establishing and maintaining internal controls; and accurately researching and applying GAAP whenever possible. This position requires strong leadership and collaborative skills to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of all accounts receivable processes while improving performance by leveraging automation and technology. The Manager of Accounts Receivable has considerable latitude for independent judgment supported by a strong and growing team of entrepreneurial minded managers to accomplish Elytus mission, Waste Nothing.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Plans, manages, and evaluates a team of individuals responsible for customer invoicing ensuring timely, accurate completion in the customer’s preferred format.

• Conducts monthly aging reviews working with the team to request payment status updates in an effort to resolve outstanding balances.

• Coaches, mentors and evaluates a team of three full-time Accounts Receivable specialists establishing work assignments, assigned KPIs and goal accomplishments.

• Identifies areas of opportunity in the accounts receivable process and works with appropriate department managers to improve accuracy, timeliness and quality of work.

• Monitors all Accounts Receivable communication ensuring that reconciliation errors, customer disputes and questions are adequately explained and resolved in a timely manner.

• Recommends, plans, and implements modifications to improve financial processes and systems automating manual processes where possible.

• Participates in the requirements gathering, development and testing of new systems or technology that enhances reporting and oversight responsibilities.

• Develops and implements knowledge sharing and succession plans, including cross training, and ensures that desk manuals and other policy and procedural documentation are developed and remain accurate and current.

• Minimizes paper processing and develops procedures to ensure electronic data is maintained and centrally stored in accordance with Elytus best practices.

• Develops queries and reports leveraging automation and analytics where possible to review staff activities and increase efficiencies.

• Serves as primary point of contact for issues relating to accounts receivables and advises others on complex transactions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Organized and detail oriented with excellent problem solving skills.

• Great oral and written people, email and phone communication skills.

• Ability to professionally resolve issues with Customers and Vendors.

• Proficient in using the Internet, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

• Proficient in the use of a scanner, fax machine and printer.

• Demonstrated ability to manage people and drive performance in a positive fashion.

• Demonstrated ability to work through complex Accounting related issues.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or related field required.

• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in Accounts Receivable or related roles.
