  • Responsibilities

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Review and interpret plans and specifications to prepare bids

    • Solicit subcontractor quotes as needed for various bids
    • Assist in Preparation of Critical Path Job Schedules for all projects assigned and coordinate with project managers
    • Determine costs for labor, equipment and materials
    • Input material and labor data into the estimating template
    • Attend Staff meeting and pre-bid meetings as necessary
    • Prepare with Senior Estimator, weekly estimating schedule
    • Review bids with Senior Estimator and Production/project managers
    • Perform site inspections/ Quality Control Reports on a scheduled basis
    • Assist in Pre-construction meetings with construction project managers and designers
    • Assist Senior estimator with preparing final bid summaries for submittal to clients
    • Prepare and sell  change orders
    • Follow up on bids after submission as directed
    • Update Sales tracker report weekly
    • Assist with assembling submittals for projects
    • Assemble As-Built drawings or operating manuals for submittal to owners
    • Review project performance and recommend correction
    • Network and develop referrals for helping to bring in more work and increase sales
    • Assist with snow removal operations as needed
    • Meet with design/build clients to assess needs, prepare plans, estimate and sell. Work with project manager through the construction process.
    • Support Maintenance Account Managers with Enhancement Design/Build projects

    Note: It is anticipated that 65% of the work effort for this position will be in Commercial Estimating, 25% Design/Build and 10% Quality Control 

    SALARY: $45,000-$55,000 based on experience

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Capable of performing complex calculations to identify the time, costs and profit margins of proposed landscape
    • Capable of understanding and communicating technical and complex information to and from non-technical individuals
    • Able to effectively use computer technology in estimating and communication of ideas

    Job Requirements:

    • Minimum: Associates degree in applicable field of study with 3-5 years field experience (Advanced degree may reduce field experience requirements).
    • Proficiency in using computer software as needed to perform essential functions. CAD a plus.
    • Ability to communicate professionally in writing and verbally, must be a positive team member
    • Organized, excellent follow through skills and detail oriented
