    Job Description: Activity Aide

    Summary:
    We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Activity Aide. The Activity Aide will be responsible for assisting in planning and implementing engaging and therapeutic activities for our residents. They will work closely with the Activity Director and other team members to ensure our residents have a meaningful and enjoyable experience within our facility. The ideal candidate must have a passion for working with older adults, excellent organizational skills, and an ability to create a positive and inclusive environment.

    Responsibilities:
    - Assist the Activity Director in planning, organizing and implementing a schedule of activities and events for residents within the facility.
    - Promote a positive and engaging atmosphere by actively participating in activities and encouraging resident involvement.
    - Provide individualized attention and support to residents during activities, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
    - Assist in setting up and cleaning activity areas before and after each session.
    - Document residents' participation and progress during activities, ensuring accurate and detailed records are maintained.
    - Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and families to promote involvement and understanding of the activities provided.
    - Monitor and report any changes or concerns in residents' behavior or health to the Activity Director or appropriate staff member.
    - Assists in transporting residents to and from activities, ensuring their safety and comfort.
    - Collaborate with other departments, such as nursing and therapy, to incorporate their suggestions and recommendations into activity plans.
    - Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and training sessions to expand knowledge and skills in providing quality activity programs.

    Qualifications:
    - High school diploma or equivalent required.
    - Previous experience working in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or assisted living setting, will be advantageous.
    - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to connect with older adults and provide emotional support.
    - Enthusiasm and creativity in planning and implementing diverse activities suitable for residents of varying abilities and interests.
    - Ability to work effectively in a team setting and willingness to collaborate with other departments.
    - Basic knowledge of senior population needs and challenges.
    - Flexible and adaptable approach to work, willing to accommodate changing needs and schedules.
    - CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

    Physical Requirements:
    - Ability to stand, walk and move for extended periods.
    - Ability to lift and carry various materials and equipment, up to 25 pounds.
    - Physical stamina to engage in active participation in activities along with residents.
    - Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
