SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the Houseperson is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel and providing customers with quality service in a timely and friendly manner. Responsibilities vary but may include: cleaning and maintaining the appearance of the public areas of the hotel, deep cleaning of assigned areas, setting-up and maintaining storage and linen closets, restocking housekeeping stations, delivering service items to guest rooms upon requests from the front desk, and helping in laundry when needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but are not limited to:

Performs domestic work as required, including stripping of bed linens, removing trash from carts and storage areas, delivery of fresh linen and supplies to room attendants, and maintain cleanliness of all stairwells, storage rooms and corridors.

Checks the general condition of the room and notifies the Executive Housekeeper of any malfunction or damage.

Responsible for the linen and equipment supplies for entire housekeeping department.

Ensures that brand standards and procedures are applied.

Performs other duties as required within the scope of responsibility.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred. Some hotel experience preferred - minimum of three (3) months. Ability to manage priorities and be able to adapt to meet the diverse needs of our customers. Excellent guest services skills required.

License/Certification: A valid driver's license is preferred.

Language Skills: Ability to exercise excellent communication, organization, time management and listening skills. Fluency in a second language is an advantage.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense to guest oriented situations. Must have a sense of urgency.

Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
