    SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the Sales Assistant is responsible for assisting the Sales team by servicing groups (both SMERFE and Corporate), meeting rooms, and conferences while providing exceptional customer service to guests and clients of the hotel. This position requires excellent guest service skills and the ability to understand the guests’ needs and ideas.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    Greets and directs visitors and, when appropriate, conducts positive and memorable property tours to clients as requested. Responsible for developing and maintaining positive and appropriate relationships with clients and guests.

    Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls.

    Performs a range of operational support activities to include, but not limited to: establishing, maintaining and updating files, records, certificates, and other documents.

    Creates Corporate and SMERFE sales folders.

    Enters and updates accounts, contacts, booking information and checks sleeping room and meeting space availability.

    Prepares weekly BEO packet for Catering department and distributes weekly Function Agenda to the Front Desk.

    Creates banquet recap for F&B.

    Delivers amenity gifts to guest rooms.

    Make transient reservations and inputs rooming lists while noting correct payment method.

    Processes credit card authorizations.

    Loads new group blocks into R&I and creates web links.

    Generates group resumes weekly for Staff meeting.

    Attends daily Stand Up meeting.

    Creates verbiage on LCD screens for all events held in hotel’s meeting space.

    Deposits Hilton Honors points into client accounts based on revenue generated at our hotel.

    Must be flexible with possible changes in work hours and/or days as business dictates.

    Performs other duties as required within the scope of responsibility

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education and/or Experience: Requires Bachelor’s degree.

    License/Certification: A valid driver's license is preferred.

    Language Skills: Ability to exercise excellent communication, presentation, organization, time management and listening skills.

    Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiarity with OnQ, Delphi FDC and/or Social Tables is a plus.

    Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to use analytical skills for measuring business potential and value to the hotel.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours) with the ability to sit for prolonged periods of time. Duties are generally performed in an indoor office setting and the employee will be using a computer frequently. Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates.Local and outbound travel required.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
