  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Firmware & Embedded Development

    • Write and test embedded firmware for controllers, motor drivers, and sensors

    • Implement real-time control loops, sensor acquisition, and signal processing

    • Develop firmware testing and debugging tools to ensure reliability

    PCB & System Design

    • Design embedded PCBs integrating MCUs, sensors, drivers, and communication interfaces

    • Simulate and optimize for performance, durability, and noise immunity

    Sensor & Motor Integration

    • Integrate sensors (IMUs, LiDAR, cameras) and motors into embedded platforms

    • Build firmware for accurate, efficient motor control

    Prototyping & Testing

    • Assemble and field-test prototypes in rugged outdoor and defense-like conditions

    • Conduct environmental, shock, and vibration testing for reliability validation

    Manufacturing & Scale-Up

    • Lead design-for-manufacturing (DFM) reviews to ensure production readiness

    • Work closely with vendors and suppliers to meet quality and cost targets

    Cross-Functional System Integration

    • Collaborate with mechanical, optical, and robotics teams for full system integration

    • Build software interfaces with other computing systems across the platform

    • Support field deployments with hands-on troubleshooting and guidance

    Documentation & Compliance

    • Produce schematics, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and firmware documentation

    • Ensure systems meet safety, MIL-STD, and ITAR compliance requirements

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 3–8 years in embedded systems, firmware development, or robotics

    • Strong in embedded C/C++, with some Python

    • Familiar with RTOS, Altium/KiCad, and debugging tools

    • Experience with PCB design, sensor integration, motor control

    • Skilled in designing for EMI/EMC, thermal, and real-world rugged use

    • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or related field

    • Strong problem-solver with a bias for action and hands-on experimentation

    • Comfortable in fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environments

    • Excellent communicator and collaborator

    • Experience with rugged electronics in harsh environments

    • Familiarity with MIL-STD and ITAR compliance

    • Background in robotics or real-time control systems

    • Active or eligible for U.S. security clearance
