Position Summary
The Embedded Regional Crisis Manager (RCM) will be responsible for delivering, enhancing, and scaling crisis management capabilities across the client’s US operations and supporting the broader RCM team globally.
The RCM will act as a trusted advisor and crisis response lead within the client’s organization, helping to protect people, assets, and operations during critical events. The role requires deep subject-matter expertise in natural disaster preparedness, crisis leadership, and a global perspective on risk management.
The RCM will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders from security, business continuity, communications, and executive leadership, ensuring a high level of preparedness and resilience tailored to the fast-paced, innovative environment of a global tech enterprise.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in the client’s Austin office, though there is flexibility for some remote work based on workload and priorities. The RCM team also operates a weekend “on-call” rotation, meaning occasional weekend work with time off in lieu. The position also involves domestic and international travel up to 50% of the time.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
Develop and maintain crisis management plans and escalation protocols tailored to regional and client-specific needs
Conduct threat and vulnerability assessments for natural disasters, geopolitical unrest, cyber risks, and emerging threats
Design and deliver crisis management training programs for Crisis Response Teams and stakeholders
Facilitate tabletop exercises, simulations, and after-action reviews to test and improve response capabilities
Create executive-level presentations and training materials to promote crisis preparedness
Integrate lessons learned and industry best practices into crisis planning and readiness efforts
Serve as liaison between internal departments (security, legal, HR, etc.) to coordinate crisis response
Collaborate with external partners including emergency services and public agencies for integrated planning
Align regional crisis efforts with global teams to ensure coordinated incident response
Represent crisis management in internal strategy meetings and external engagements
Contribute to enterprise-wide crisis policies, protocols, and reporting standards
Lead crisis response for incidents affecting U.S. operations and support global events as needed
Monitor real-time threats and provide strategic assessments to executive stakeholders
Coordinate crisis activation and ensure accurate, timely communication across teams
Draft and distribute incident updates and recovery reports for diverse audiences
Lead post-incident reviews to identify gaps and enhance future response strategies

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Deep expertise in natural disaster forecasting, planning, and response, with broad knowledge of security risks and geopolitical dynamics across the Americas.
Extensive experience designing and implementing proactive crisis response plans.
Proven track record in managing crises at scale — including natural disasters, civil unrest, cyber events, and major business disruptions.
Strong background in coordinating with external agencies, public safety officials, and cross-industry security professionals.
Skilled in producing highly affective training content and delivering compelling presentations to diverse audiences, including executives.
Advanced communication skills — both written and verbal — with the ability to synthesize complex issues into concise and actionable reports.
Familiarity with incident command systems, business continuity frameworks, and enterprise risk practices.
Exceptional attention to detail, emotional intelligence, and a strong sense of accountability.
Demonstrated global mindset and ability to operate across time zones and cultural contexts.
Proficiency with incident tracking, mass notification, and risk monitoring platforms.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Risk Management, Security Studies, International Relations, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
10+ years of experience in crisis management, emergency response, or a related field within large-scale or multinational organizations.
Willingness to travel up to 50%, both domestically and internationally.

This position is largely self-directed and requires understanding and compliance with company policies, procedures, and values. The position works in an on-site office environment utilizing a computer and standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to interact collaboratively with the team and stakeholders, and communicate via phone, videophone, or text messaging. The employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The position may require travel up to 50%.
