At Embry Health, we strive to increase access to healthcare across the state of Arizona. We are a multi-site operation with drive-thru testing sites located throughout Maricopa, Pinal, Cochise, and Mohave Counties. The Field Unit has primarily focused on COVID-19 testing, however, they are expanding to provide a variety of primary care related services including vaccinations, med checks, refills, and other services. Designed to increase access to medical services during the pandemic, especially for those who are unable to go into a traditional clinic setting. Test/clinic sites operate a variety of hours with many being open 24/7. Locations of clinic sites cover diverse locations such as parking lots, long term temporary structures, community college locations.
We are seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join our rapidly growing team. On average we are administering 12,000 COVID-19 tests daily between our 24 test sites and will average processing over 100,000 claims per month.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for running a self-pay report every day to pull the self-pay patients, from Athena.
Responsible to report every day the last day loaded and processed. The individual will export the CSV file from the site to load that will have the patient's new ID number to bill HRS
Interact with various insurances/third party payors accurately and timely to ensure authorization is obtained and documented based on internal and external policies and regulations.
Reads and understands explanations of payments to resolve back end claim resolution.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Has a minimum of 1 year of medical billing
Experience with CPT and ICD-9/10; Familiarity with medical terminology
Knowledge of billing procedures and collection techniques
Experience working with Athena Software preferred, not required
Adhering to company standards of compliance with policies and procedures
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and prioritize workload
Efficient and accurate charge entry and coding
Effective organization and multitasking skills are essential
Microsoft Office experience
Strong Microsoft Excel experience
