    Emerge is currently seeking qualified candidates for a direct hire Engineering Manager job in Winsted, CT for our client, a CNC machining facility that supports the parent company’s other plants. This position is responsible for providing technical leadership in the Engineering area of product, special processes, and quality. The Engineering Manager will supervise salaried employees, managing all engineering services; providing technical assistance to assigned engineers to meet or exceed quality, cycle time, profitability, and customer requirements; coordinating the transition of technologies into production; facilitating process standardization; driving continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and systems; establishing and maintaining excellent customer relationships. Our client offers a salary of up to $150,000 plus generous bonus and an excellent benefits package. Relocation is available.

     

    Responsibilities for the Engineering Manager Job located near Winsted, CT includes:

    • Supervise an effective team; including conducting team meetings, managing staffing levels, assisting with career development including: motivates, coaches and trains to acquire maximum quality, productivity, morale, and cooperation.
    • Participate in the devlopment, evaluation, and implementation of cost reduction, product improvement, and production problem-solving activities.
    • Direct the engineering group on cost estimation to ensure accuracy and consistency.
    • Maintain good communication links with customer technical personnel and assist them with design considerations for optimum manufacturing capability and production value.
    • Direct and coordinate all aspects of capital equipment justification and acquisition.
    • Expected to assist in the implementation of EHS Values and policy statements and accompanying principles.
    • Achieve EHS metrics and comply with all department, facility, corporate, and regulatory EHS regulations.
    • Prepare reports and actively participate in technical and business meetings.
    • Approve documents and procedures relating to the production process.
    • Maintain and improve customer Quality ratings.
    • Achieve and maintain facility ISO 9002/AS9001/NADCAP accreditation.

     

    Qualifications:

     

    • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or similar.
    • Minimum of seven (7) years of engineering experience including new program introduction (NPI).
    • Must have previous engineering manager experience. Experience in Aerospace or Defense industries is a plus!
    • Project management experience, collaborative approach, and strong safety experience are preferred.
    • Root Cause, Corrective Action, and Continuous Improvement skills.
    • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status; ITAR defines U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., "Green Card Holder"), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
