Emerge is recruiting qualified candidates for a direct hire Material Specialist position in Erie, PA, for our client, a stable manufacturer of quality products. The Material Specialist will oversee purchasing, shipping, and receiving at the plant. Responsibilities include creating and monitoring purchase orders, ensuring orders are correct and delivered on time, and monitoring compliance for federal contracts. Our client offers a competitive salary based on experience, $40,000 to $50,000 per year and excellent benefits including low cost health insirance and profit sharing.

Responsibilities for the Materials Specialist position in Erie, PA, will include:

• Purchasing oversight, including negotiations, selecting new vendors, ensuring material quality, and creating purchase orders.
• Monitoring all shipping and receiving to ensure dates are correct.
• Ensuring all products are packaged and transported according to contract requirements.
• Documenting shipping compliance and maintaining records.
• Utilizing the ERP system to ensure on-time and correct deliveries is desired.

Qualifications:

• Recent Suply Chain college graduates with Supply Chain Major encourgae to apply.
• Highly organized and detail oriented in interpreting and negotiating contracts with transportation companies.
• Prior experience working with government and military documentation.
• Experience in creating and monitoring purchase orders.
• Ability to pass the required federal background checks.
• This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires "U.S. person status".
