THE JOB AT A GLANCE
We are seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to join our team. You will report to the Corporate Controller. This position will be responsible for building and maintaining the Company’s accounting policies and preparing accounting memorandums. You will provide leadership and technical guidance of accounting policy development and financial reporting within the assigned functional areas.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Interpret U.S. GAAP accounting standards to determine the accounting and financial reporting treatment for new, material, and/or complex unusual transactions or agreements.
Perform technical accounting research and prepare technical accounting memorandums for significant transactions.
Evaluate the accounting consequences of potential transactions and provide input and suggestions to planned and proposed transaction agreements.
Review financial deal models to ensure valuation assumptions align with Company’s assumptions for the deal and identify deal risks (financial and non-financial) based on preliminary assessments.
In-depth review of business combination valuation and purchase price allocation to ensure that scope, methodology and key assumptions are understood and supportable.
Collaborate with and influence various stakeholders including FP&A, accounting operations, business stakeholders, external auditors to support the preparation and review of precedent setting accounting positions and financial statements.
Provide guidance to functional accounting teams on the operationalization and implementation of accounting requirements.
ABOUT YOU
7+ years of experience in public accounting and additional experience within a corporate accounting function is a plus.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience researching and documenting new accounting guidance and the accounting treatment of issues.
Experience working through ambiguity to communicate clear accounting positions and operational solutions.
Transactional exposure on business combinations and understanding the processes involved in resolving significant or complex accounting matters that may arise and reading transaction documents with a focus on matters that may have accounting or disclosure consequences.
Experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements and valuations.
Aptitude for quantitative analysis, highly analytical, strong attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to concisely convey complex details to a broad range of audiences.
CPA qualifications required.
