    Agriculture company in South County has a newly created Accounting Manager role open. This position has been opened due to growth and will manage the AR, AP and Staff Accountant (three direct reports) with a team of 8 total. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required for this role.

    Who does role report to: Director of Accounting

    Growth : Trajectory to Director and then Controller

    $100mm+ revenue

    Company has had healthy growth over last couple years, expecting 10% growth

     

    SUMMARY: Manage Accounting Staff to ensure work is completed in an accurate and timely manner. Responsible for maintaining accounting procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following as well as other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.

    Month-end and Year-end closing:

    • Ensure accurate and timely month and year end close.
    • Manage bank and general ledger reconciliations.
    • Prepare, verify and control the entry of journal entries to general ledger.
    • Generate trial balances and distribute to CFO.
    • Oversee the preparation of Westgate/Volcano monthly financials.
    • Compile information for borrowing base certification/collateral reports and release BBC to bank.
    • Review fixed asset depreciation schedule.
    • Oversee the preparation of selling expense reports.
    • Review payment of account with vendors and recommend advance based on credit limits.
    • Monitor cash requirements.
    • Identify delinquent accounts requiring external collection efforts.

    Management and Internal Controls:

    • Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Departments.
    • Hire, train and supervise accounting staff.
    • Interface with multiple departments.
    • Maintain internal controls over accounting transactions.
    • Maintain the general ledger system.
    • Streamline accounting processes by developing and implementing accounting procedures.

    Compliance

    • Coordinate external financial and bank audits.
    • Coordinate and oversee the preparation of year-end audit working papers including assets, liabilities, revenue and expenditures.
    • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting and tax filings.

    Other Responsibilities:

    • Assist with the preparation of operating budget.
    • Responsible for coding general liability, property tax, accounting services invoices.
    • Work on special projects as assigned by Director of Accounting/CFO.

    Other Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Forecasts, prepares and manages department budgets as defined by CFO (department heads).
