    Job Description

    The Assembler III inspects circuit boards to ensure compliance with Control Products Inc. (CPI) and IPC-610 Class 1 standards, performs advanced soldering, and ensures quality.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Conducts quality inspection to ensure compliance with CPI and IPC-610 Class 1 standards.
    • Performs touchup or rework to achieve compliance.
    • Performs advanced soldering when necessary.
    • May involve product testing and machine operation.
    • Installs mechanical and electrical components using basic assembly equipment, soldering leaded components, and removing pins from headers.
    • Provides initial counts of bags and labels for orders, locates correct materials from the packaging area, bags and packages products, and places them in a box with the shipping label attached.
    • Completes MO forms, records MOs in shipping log, and delivers to the shipping area.
    • Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department team-lead or supervisor.
    • Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition by performing daily organization and cleanup of the work area.
    • Participates in continuous process improvement, recommends changes to, and participates in the review of manufacturing procedures.
    • Follows safety guidelines and reports unsafe conditions to the team-lead or supervisor.
    • Completes tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimal supervision, and performs multiple production tasks to allow for effective job rotation.

    Basic Qualifications

    • 1-2 years of soldering experience in a manufacturing facility.
    • Demonstrates advanced soldering skills and passes soldering test.
    • Understands polarity, orientation, and IPC 610 Class 1 and Class 2 standards.
    • Pays close attention to detail and has good eye/hand coordination.
    • Works well in a team environment, can work in a fast-paced work environment, and has basic mechanical aptitude.
    • Has good manual dexterity and ability to multi-task and is willing to cross-train in other areas.
    • Is results-driven, has the ability to read and understand basic work instructions and identify packing specifications, and can read, speak and write fluent English.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Has a High School diploma or GED.
    • Has 1-2 years of soldering experience in an electronics manufacturing environment and experience working in an electronics manufacturing environment.

    Physical Requirements

    • Requires sitting for an extended period and reaching with hands and arms.
    • Must regularly lift and move up to 20 pounds and frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds.
    • Requires frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and specific vision abilities, including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May require the use of a microscope.
    • Requires walking while carrying trays, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.

    Work Environment

    • Works nearby of others (assembly line) and may require overtime.
