    SUMMARY: Emery Celli Brinckerhoff Abady Ward & Maazel LLP (www.ecbawm.com) is seeking to immediately hire a receptionist. Currently twenty-nine lawyers, the firm is a litigation boutique with a diverse mix of cases in both civil rights and complex commercial litigation. Our civil rights practice focuses on police misconduct, First Amendment rights, election law, employment and housing discrimination, prisoners' rights, education law, and class action litigation. The firm's commercial litigation practice serves a broad range of clients, from publicly traded corporations to individuals to small businesses. The successful candidate will interact with attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants in managing complex litigation support efforts. The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. The receptionist is expected to be present in the firm's midtown office during business hours. The salary for this position is expected to be between $45,000 and $55,000 per year. The successful candidate will be eligible to receive an annual, discretionary bonus and to take part in the firm's generous benefits program, which includes comprehensive health insurance at no cost to the employee, options for dental and vision insurance, 401(k) profit sharing, and a monthly MetroCard. PRIMARY DUTIES: Assist managers, attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants in all aspects, including but not limited to: * Answer and direct incoming calls, greet clients, and provide concierge services to clients and Firm members * Promote and maintain the good will and reputation of the firm by maintaining the highest level of professional conduct and confidentiality * Present an image consistent with a professional services firm * Coordinate and reserve conference rooms for internal and external meetings, calendar accordingly * Coordinate registration of guests with security * Prepare conference room for meetings, arrange breakfasts, lunches and dinners when necessary * Order, maintain, and track office supplies * Receive and distribute incoming mail and packages * Maintain a clean and uncluttered work area, ensuring sensitive or client information is protected * Make arrangements for cleaning services and office maintenance * Communicate with building management * Assist with various database projects, including uploading documents in appropriate databases. REQUIREMENTS: * 2-3 years of experience working as a receptionist * High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent * Proficient in Microsoft Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) * Strong computer skills * Accurate typing skills of 40 w.p.m. * Strong listening skills and patience to respond appropriately and positively with external parties * Attention to detail * Thrives in fast-paced environment * Proactive, with a go-getter attitude * Team player - energetic, enthusiastic, and personable * Solid interpersonal skills * Knowledge of standard office methods and equipment * Analytical ability, very good attention to detail and organizational skills * Good verbal and written communication skills * Excellent attendance * Ability to maintain strict confidentiality * Ability to perform with the highest level of integrity * Ability to manage time and tasks effectively * Ability to lift large boxes (Approx. 25 lbs) * Ability to stand for a long time while assembling materials * Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines and priorities * Ability to effectively work with all levels of personnel To apply, send your resume, cover letter, and three professional references to Geraldine Mejia at gmejia@ecbawm.com and Liz Perez at lperez@ecbawm.com.
