Job Description
Our instructors will be teaching virtual, live-recorded courses for our AP-readiness course catalogue which includes: Biology, US History, Calculus AB, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Psychology, US Government and Politics, and World History. Our instructors will be expected to interact with and engage with students attending live sessions, in real-time. Our instructors must be comfortable and familiar with the all the content covered in the AP course for which they apply to. We will provide detailed lesson plans for the entire course in addition to other instructional support material. We will be providing extensive training in our philosophy and approach. We will also provide all production and technological capabilities.
Teachers must commit to at least one academic year and have a schedule that is flexible, allowing you to commit to coming to our studios to record your lessons at the same time, twice every week.
No previous teaching or tutoring experience is required. We welcome students who may still be in in school (undergraduate program and above) and any new graduates to apply. We want to build a team of eager and curious learners who are excited to help further the education of others.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach AP-level courses in a virtual, live-streamed, conversational format
Adapt existing content knowledge base to Emile instructional philosophy and pedagogy (training will be provided)
Interact and engage with students who are attending live sessions in an organic, fluid manner
Provide suggestions and improvements to flow or structure of pre-planned lessons in order to effectively deliver instruction and improve student learning outcomes
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must possess a professional and friendly disposition; someone who is enthusiastic, confident, dedicated, and dependable.
Candidates must be highly organized as well as have stellar communication skills, ethics, and integrity. Ideal applicants will be curious and passionate learners themselves.
An ideal candidate will have prior experience teaching in front of a camera and for a large audience.
Candidates must posses strong communication and presentation skills and must be well-versed from a content-knowledge perspective for the AP course which they are applying for.
It is essential that candidates are able to teach the material to different learning styles and are able to break down seemingly complex material into bite-size pieces.
