Employee Benefits Account Manager - Insurance Agency - Base Salary to 115k/year - San Diego, CA

• Our client, an established independent insurance brokerage, is seeking an Employee Benefits Account Manager to join their team. This role will manage employee benefits accounts throughout the new business and renewal lifecycle, including carrier marketing, benefits proposals, coverage and pricing negotiations, open enrollment, and ongoing client account management. The position supports group employee benefits clients and works directly with insurance carriers, clients, prospects, and internal account teams.

Responsibilities:

• Manage assigned employee benefits accounts throughout the new business and renewal process
• Develop marketing plans for new and renewal employee benefits business in coordination with internal account teams and clients
• Prepare and submit employee benefits marketing submissions to insurance carriers
• Prepare spreadsheets, presentations, benefits proposals, and renewal materials for assigned clients
• Negotiate employee benefits coverage terms and pricing with insurance carriers
• Coordinate Broker of Record (BOR) letters and carrier communications
• Plan and conduct employee benefits open enrollment meetings and presentations
• Attend client and prospect meetings related to employee benefits programs, renewals, and new business

Qualifications:

• Active Life & Health insurance license
• 5+ years of employee benefits experience
• Experience supporting employee benefits accounts within an insurance agency, brokerage, or benefits consulting environment
• Experience with employee benefits renewals, new business, carrier marketing, benefits proposals, and open enrollment

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 100k - 115k/year range (flexible dependent on experience) plus team bonuses, excellent health insurance, 401k, profit sharing, bonuses for earning designations, educational reimbursement, PTO, Paid holidays, etc. Open to hybrid or remote in Southern CA.
