What You’ll Do:
- Be a culture architect – Partner with HR leadership to design programs that elevate the employee experience and reflect company values.
- Strengthen connections – Monitor workplace climate, gather insights, and recommend initiatives that boost engagement, retention, and morale.
- Coach and guide leaders – Equip managers with the tools to foster trust, encourage open dialogue, and address concerns proactively.
- Lead with fairness – Handle sensitive and complex employee relations cases with professionalism, discretion, and empathy.
- Stay ahead of the curve – Ensure compliance with California labor laws, work with legal counsel when needed, and update policies to meet evolving regulations.
- Educate and empower – Deliver impactful training on workplace conduct, harassment prevention, performance management, and more.
- Investigate thoroughly – Conduct fair and timely workplace investigations, documenting findings and sharing recommendations with senior HR leadership.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of progressive employee relations experience, ideally within hospitality, retail, or restaurant industries.
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred.
- Experience in unionized environments and large-scale organizations (2,000–3,000+ employees).
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
- Deep knowledge of California labor laws and HR best practices.
- Proven success managing high-volume, complex ER cases.
- Exceptional interpersonal, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to travel to various company locations as needed.
