    Employment Attorney (Texas)

    Locations: Dallas, TX; Austin, TX

    Direct Counsel is seeking an employment attorney to join a globally recognized law firm. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-profile employment litigation and advisory matters for a diverse client base. The role involves handling complex employment law issues, including litigation, compliance, and transactional work.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage litigation for class actions and single-plaintiff cases, including wage and hour disputes, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, breach of contract, and wrongful termination.
    • Provide employment law advice and counsel, including drafting and negotiating employment agreements, severance packages, and restrictive covenants.
    • Conduct employment due diligence and advise on employment aspects of corporate transactions.
    • Handle compliance matters related to employee policies, compensation practices, commission plans, and leave of absence/accommodation issues (FMLA, ADA).
    • Represent clients in proceedings before state and federal courts and administrative agencies.

    Qualifications:

    • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
    • Admitted to practice law in Texas.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in labor and employment law, including litigation, advice and counsel, and transactional work.
    • Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws, including wage and hour regulations and anti-discrimination statutes.
    • Experience defending class and collective actions and advising clients on employment matters.
    • Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.

    Additional Information:

    • Work Model: Hybrid – Regular in-office presence with some flexibility for remote work.
    • Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience.

    • Compensation : $260,000 - $435,000
