Full-Time | California (In-Person) | Plaintiff-Side Employment Law
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our employment team is seeking an experienced Employment Paralegal to join our growing team. This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role at the center of our client operations. You will manage employment cases from initial intake through resolution, working directly with clients, supervising attorneys, and opposing counsel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Intake & Communication
- Conduct comprehensive client intake interviews to gather facts, documents, and case background
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients to provide updates, manage expectations, and answer procedural questions (under attorney supervision)
- Build and maintain trusted client relationships throughout the lifecycle of each matter
Case Evaluation & Management
- Help attorneys incoming employment case leads and prepare preliminary case assessments for attorney review
- Organize and manage case files, timelines, key dates, and document repositories
- Track statutes of limitations, court deadlines, and agency filing deadlines (DFEH/CRD, EEOC, DLSE)
- Coordinate with expert witnesses, investigators, and co-counsel as needed
Legal Drafting & Discovery
- Assisting with evaluating case documents, demand letters, and pre-litigation correspondence under attorney supervision
- Prepare and respond to written discovery (interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission)
- Organize, review, and summarize document productions and deposition transcripts
- Draft deposition notices, subpoenas, and other litigation documents
- Assist in preparing motions, briefs, and trial materials
Administrative & Operational
- Maintain case management software and ensure accurate, up-to-date records
- Coordinate scheduling for depositions, hearings, mediations, and client meetings
- Assist with firm operations and workflow improvements as the practice grows
QUALIFICATIONS
- Paralegal certificate from ABA-approved program, qualifying degree + experience, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in plaintiff-side employment law
- Strong familiarity with California employment statutes
- Experience drafting discovery, and litigation documents
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
Assessment Option (Priority Consideration)
We hire based on data and performance indicators. Candidates who complete the Predictive Index (PI) assessment will receive priority consideration and expedited follow-up for interviews.
