Job Description

AHRC New York City is seeking Employment Skill/Direct Support Professionals with a valid DRIVER LICENSE for our Bronx Day Programs .

** Pay Rate** : $17 per hour with an increase to $18 per hour after six months if in good standing. In addition, upon completion of the AHRC Defensive Driving course you will be eligible for an additional annual bonus of $2,000.

** Schedule : Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm**

_ Responsibilities:_

• Work with participants by assisting them to learn and develop social skills, daily living skills and habits.
• Responsible for doing pickups and drop offs of the people we support from their residences to the day programs..
• Transport participants to appointments, social outings, and other activities.
• Complete daily progress reports.

Qualifications

• Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• NYS Driver's License Required.
• Experience working with or mentoring people to improve employment skills a plus
• Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
• Reasonable flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to the scheduling needs of the individual.
• Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
• Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
