BACKGROUND/DRUG/TENANT SCREENING & PRE-HIRE JOB APPLICANT ASSESSMENT CONSULTANT & SALES REPRESENTATIVE
REPORTS TO: Owner FLSA STATUS: Exempt – Outside Sales
SCHEDULE: Actual hours are dependent on the needs and time constraints of our clients. Occasional evening and weekend hours required.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Background/Tenant/Drug Screening & Pre-hire Job Applicant Assessment Consultant & Sales Representative will establish new Background/Tenant/Drug Screening & Pre-hire Job Applicant Assessment clients. The Representative will meet with prospective new clients, discuss their background/tenant/drug screening needs, discuss current provider’s strengths and weaknesses and demonstrate the benefit of becoming an EnCompass Client.
This role will also provide prompt, accurate and timely service to our clients. This position involves frequent explanation and step-by-step walk through of using a web-based system to non-technical users (HR staff, managers, business owners).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Meet and establish new clients by using various sales methods (business to business, cold calling, presentations, sponsoring events, etc.)
2. Analyze home state market, develop prospecting plan, forecast new clients, develop “out of the box” sales strategies/models and evaluate their effectiveness
3. Evaluate clients’ needs and build productive long lasting relationships
4. Familiarity with compliance laws and able to work with strict guidelines and laws.
5. Research accounts and generate or follow through sales leads.
6. Report and provide feedback to management using financial statistical data.
7. Attend local networking & various Chamber of Commerce events.
8. Attend trade shows, teleconferences, virtual meetings, and training events to keep abreast of the latest developments and FCRA policy changes.
9. Handle a significant number of inbound and outbound transactions, providing phone and email-based support.
10. Document customer transactions according to company procedures in a web-based CRM application.
11. Perform new account setup and existing account maintenance functions.
12. Anticipate customer needs and deliver solutions for proactive customer service.
13. Conduct investigations on behalf of clients.
14. Prepare reports for clients.
15. Perform daily outbound calls to clients regarding order status and updates.
16. All other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
1. Two years of college required (or equivalent experience.)[SP1]
2. Two years of sales experience (preferably relationship selling) or four years of sales experience for candidates without college. [SP2]
3. Experience in a professional customer service setting, business-to-business preferred.
4. Knowledge of background checks, pre-employment screening, Tenant Screening, Drug Screening and/or human resources would be an asset to this position.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
1. Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Internet/Web Skills.
2. HubSpot or similar CRM. [SP3]
3. Web site usage, troubleshooting, etc. preferred.

6. Sales skills to include the five steps of the sale - rapport building, objection handling, closing skills and effective follow-up skills. [SP5]
7. Effective listening skills, ability to listen, truly understand customer needs, wants and concerns.
8. Effective problem solving skills.
9. Ability to determine potential customer issues and vulnerabilities and determine the correct background screening for customer’s needs while considering potential client’s budget constraints.
10. Ability to work both independently and as a team member in a collaborative environment.
11. Effective use of the English language, writing skills and the ability to write clear thoughts using effective grammar, sentence structure and a strong ability to proof read and utilize proper spelling.
12. Occasional travel.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position will spend a significant portion of the time in the field calling on businesses and developing relationships. The employee may have to travel up to 50 miles on a regular basis.

The noise level in the office environment is low. However when traveling to meetings, trade shows, etc. the noise level may be moderate.
