Over the past 30 years, EnSave has developed a reputation as a leader in agricultural energy consulting and has played a significant role in driving the adoption of new and innovative efficiency and renewable energy technologies on thousands of farms throughout North America.

    Job Description

    We are seeking an Energy Efficiency Field Representative to support our newly launched agricultural energy efficiency rebate program serving Southern California farms. This position will be responsible for representing EnSave, its implementation partners, and its clients in a professional manner, and driving program participation among Southern California’s farms and agricultural community stakeholders. The Field representatives will spend up to 80 percent of their time visiting farms, vendors, and other agricultural community members throughout Southern California. The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and works closely with appropriate members of the engineering and program management team.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work closely with staff at EnSave, our clients, and our program implementation partners to promote program offerings such as energy-efficient equipment rebates and energy audits • Develop and foster relationships with utility customers, equipment manufacturers, dealers/vendors, utility account executives, and other applicable stakeholders to increase program participation

    • Travel to farm sites to collect information needed by engineering staff • Coordinate with engineering team and program management staff to assess, collect, and verify farm project information for energy savings claims

    • Regularly communicate with farmers, equipment vendors, and contractors to obtain information needed to secure and process rebates

    • Attend trade shows, conferences, and other agricultural events throughout California • Assist farms with incentive/rebate paperwork for rebates and on-bill financing • Track farm energy efficiency project statuses in an online database

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must have a reliable car and a clean driving record

    • Ability to travel frequently within Southern California to visit farms and clients

    • Strong interpersonal skills and desire to develop and manage new relationships with farms, utility staff, trade allies, and other agricultural community stakeholders

    • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently • Effective analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

    • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for one’s work

    • Excellent time management, organizational skills

    • Expertise with Microsoft office suite

    • Strong oral and written communication skills

    PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

    • Familiarity with California’s agricultural sector, such as working directly with farms and/or working for an agricultural service provider

    • Familiarity with greenhouse operations and energy efficiency technologies (energy curtains, boiler systems, lighting systems, etc.) is highly desirable

    • Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, agriculture, or mathematics preferred; Associates degree with applicable experience will be considered • Previous experience with program management a plus

    • Prior experience in energy efficiency is desirable
