    JOB TITLE: Reliability & Continuous Improvement Engineer JOB LOCATION: Boston, MA JOB OVERVIEW: The Company is a manufacturer of custom dry mix and powdered food products.     They are currently seeking a Reliability & Continuous Improvement Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations. The ideal candidate will be expected to maximize cost effectiveness, quality and productivity by working with Maintenance, Production, Machinists, Sales, Supply Chain, and the Customer. This role reports directly to the VP of Operations. JOB DUTIES:

    • Participates in the development of design and installation specifications along with commissioning plans.
    • Participates in the development of criteria for and evaluation of equipment and MRO suppliers.
    • Participates in the final check out of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications.
    • Guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems.
    • Provides input to a Risk Management Plan that will anticipate reliability-related, and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operation.
    • Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.
    • Performs Root-cause, Root-Cause Failure
    • Works with Production to perform analyses of assets including, Asset Utilization, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, remaining useful life and other parameters that define operating condition, reliability and costs of assets.
    • Provides technical support to production, maintenance management and technical personnel.
    • Applies value analysis to repair/replace, repair/redesign, and make/buy decisions.
    • Provide process engineering support for required equipment upgrades and or modifications.
    • Assist in and or champion investigation of deviations that are facilities/maintenance related etc. and ensure the appropriate corrective actions are taken.
    • Direct and or assist in the design and execution of all capital projects assigned.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial/Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or other related field
    • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Experience in food manufacturing environment a plus
    • Solid understanding of contract language, project planning, technical scope interpretation, and schedule management
    • Excellent management and communication skills with the ability to influence customers, stakeholders, and the manufacturing and project teams
    • Ability to work in a team environment, possess skills in leading technical decision making and resolution of issues; eagerness to learn and relate to co-workers
    • Team-focus, project ownership and customer commitment
    • Have a sense of urgency and be very detail-oriented
    • Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills
    • Possess a high energy level and drive to finish out projects or resolve issues
    • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Project, MS Office Suite software
    • Ability to work extended hours as needed to support customer deadlines
    • Ability to travel to customer or supplier facilities to conduct reviews, audits or qualifications.
