A qualified candidate should have a minimum of 3+ years and current experience as an Applications Developer/Programmer and DBA for a small to medium sized company.  Experience working in a corporate and/or manufacturing environment supporting Microsoft Technologies and development in a Windows environment is preferred. Said candidate must possess a university or college degree in Information Technology and must have strong technical and computer abilities.

The Applications Developer is responsible for translating software and client process requirements into workable programming code and maintain and develop programs for use in business.  As an Applications Developer, responsibilities include writing specifications and designing, building, testing, implementing, and supporting applications using programming languages and development tools.  As a Database Administrator, the expectation is to work with and provide expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and Progress OpenEdge database technologies, methodologies, data management and database administration tools to provide development, support, consultation and technical guidance.  Support numerous high-performance databases to ensure reliability and efficiency.  The position will support a wide range of business sectors within our organization, including Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, Distribution, and Maintenance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Plan, coordinate, develop, and test applications and databases for enterprise release.
• Ensure applications conform to business strategies, tactics, and objectives.
• Evaluate system's production readiness and supportability.
• Analyzes and researches software requirements to determine feasibility of design requirements within time and cost restraints.
• Partners with manager and representatives of departments concerned with program to resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls.
• Continuous study, creation, and follow of business processes and procedures to identify opportunities for streamlining for efficiency and to ensure maintainable application development, including source code management, automated build processes and appropriate documentation.
• Proactively and continuously evaluates and addresses application issues related to performance, stability, scalability, and extensibility.
• Provide first and second level helpdesk support and resolve problems to not only the end user’s satisfaction but meet IT expectations with the utilization and maintenance of the helpdesk tracking software.
• Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
• Provide training as necessary.
• Document technical requirements and processes.

CURRENT TECHNOLOGIES USED & DEMONSTRATED EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

• C/C++, C#, .Net, WPF/XAML. Knowledge of Objective C
• Front-end web development technologies (JavaScript, JQuery, HTML, CSS)
