    To help us drive excellence, you’ll get to:

    • Sets up dies, fixtures or assemblies in accordance with MIOSHA standards and company procedures.
    • Troubleshoots equipment failures and problems with appropriate personnel.
    • Sets press to optimum speed and feed of machine according to type of operation, specified material and finish to improve and maintain machine efficiency.
    • Starts machine to obtain first run work piece and verifies dimensional tolerances.
    • Performs routine and preventative maintenance and setup including, but not limited to, die setting/fastening, machine lubrication, tools utilized include hand held pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, die bars, etc.
    • Recommends adjustments to processes and equipment to produce a product that meets company standards and customer requirements.
    • Reports equipment failures and unusual sounds or actions while operating equipment. Fills out necessary work orders and/or PCA’s (Process Change Authorizations) when needed.
    • Monitors press for proper operation and reports any malfunctions or problems to supervisor and maintenance.
    • Coordinate and pre-stage all necessary items for die change.
    • Set up and program new jobs on initial run. Fill out proper paperwork and turn in to Supervisor.
    • Assists engineering personnel in testing and evaluating new dies.
    • Evaluates data and conducts experiments to develop application of new equipment or improved techniques, procedures or practices.
    • Instructs operators or other workers in machine setup and operation.
    • Assists in the coordination of prioritization of activities of production personnel to meet customer, plant and management requirements.
    • Assists in ensuring effective utilization of manpower to minimize overtime requirements. Learns production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
    • Communicates current and past quality issues to associates in department.
    • Creates labels for area when needed.
    • Follow up on instructions, quality paperwork, and other process updates to ensure consistency in department.
    • Coordinates Die Change process. Assigns duties and makes sure expectations are met.
    • Lead and maintain the team’s 5S excellence and adherence.

    This full-time hourly role is a part of our Belleville Plant 2 team and reports to the Production Supervisor

    Required experience:

    • High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
