    Axis Engineering is dedicated to designing and developing assembly solutions, metal forming and inspection fixtures.

    To help us drive excellence, you’ll get to:

    • Review customers controls and safety specifications and ensure controls hardware and software designs comply with those specifications.
    • Plans and directs build production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
    • Leads and facilitates meetings.
    • Responsible for performance feedback and leadership of all direct reports including mentoring, coaching,
    • Accountable for the productivity of the manufacturing and build operations.
    • Responsible for overall coordination and communication of production goals.
    • Direct and drive the utilization of problem-solving methods for related plant and customer problems / issues.
    • Oversee plant-manning levels and ensure compliance and improvements to the budget.
    • Assign clear responsibilities for supporting Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and hold all direct reports accountable for enforcement.
    • Responsible for ensuring the entire team has the necessary tools and materials to properly perform their roles safely and efficiently.
    • Represents production in corporate and in-plant meetings.
    • Coordinates production activities with materials, purchasing, maintenance, tooling, engineering and quality to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment.
    • Consults with engineering, tooling and maintenance personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
    • Helps establish goals for key metrics areas (Quality, Build Timing, and Safety)
    • Plans and implements corrective actions for targets that are not met.
    • Leads the Lean Manufacturing effort at Plant Level.
    • Assists in the screening and hiring process of new hires for the operations group, as well as other key management and supervisory roles.
    • Role reports the Plant Manager.

    Required experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, related field, prefer Manufacturing, Quality. Master’s degree a plus.

    • Minimum of 8+yrs experience as a Plant Superintendent or Plant Department Manager.

    • Solid knowledge of metal stamping and assembly manufacturing processes.

    • Demonstrate successful leadership through teamwork, coaching/mentoring, job enrichment, safety, quality and meeting deliverables.

    • Proficiency with MS Office, ERP, Quality, Safety, etc., systems.

  • Qualifications

    Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, competent computer skills in use of word, excel, PowerPoint and HRIS systems, with ability to create spreadsheets for analysis and tracking of various information. Negotiation skills a must for conflict resolution. Demonstrated management and organizational skills.

    Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, compliance guidelines, financial reports and other legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Must be able to write and deliver speeches, write articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format set by the company. Ability to present information to the management team, public groups, and/or board of directors.

    Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Must be able to compute rate, ratio and percent; with the ability to develop and interpret graphs used for presentations or reports.

    Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions supplied in both written and verbal format.

    Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
