JOB SUMMARY:
The focus of this position is to ensure that the accuracy and timeliness of accounting records for the Energera Group of Companies are maintained effectively in conjunction with corporate guidelines and applicable accounting standards. The Accountant works closely with the accounting group and the Controller to ensure that all deadlines and compliance requirements are met. This position will work to improve communication, procedures and policies of the company. You will develop strong communications with all office staff within the Energera group of companies. This position requires customers and vendors to be dealt with in a positive, friendly manner, and always looking to develop the business further.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: including but not limited to:
Full cycle accounting
Assisting in preparing monthly internal financial statements
Evaluating internal control processes
Preparing fixed-asset schedules
Auditing and monitoring the accuracy of accounting transactions
Assisting with accounts receivable collections
Assisting with accounts payable
Assists customers with billing concerns
Preparing monthly bank reconciliations
Filing of monthly GST returns
Assists with year-end financial statement preparation
Assists with training of accounting support team
Prepares written procedures for the accounting department, as needed
Prepares journal entries for transactions occurring, as needed
Special projects, as directed by the Controller and the CFO, and other senior managers
Formats and creates reports and other documents
Liaison with customers, internal departments and staff
Ensure accurate records kept for capitalization's and amortizations of fixed assets
Maintain records of asset additions and disposals
QUALIFICATIONS:
CPA designation is considered an asset
3 years full cycle accounting experience required
A Degree in accounting is a strong asset
A minimum of “intermediate” knowledge in all Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Internet Explorer.
Experience with Microsoft Navision or other relational database ERP systems (JDE, SAP) is a strong asset
Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems in a very fast-paced environment
Exceptional communication and organizational skills

Able to keep several projects moving forward at once; nothing slips through the cracks
