    Prime Power Systems, a 40 year old generator services company located in Austell, GA is actively searching for a Power Systems Controls Engineer to join their engineering team.

    REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION

    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelors in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from accredited ABET university (Engineering Technology degree is acceptable – Masters a plus)
    • Knowledge in Electrical power systems including generators, logic controls, switch-gears, transfer switches, power protective relays
    • Minimum five (5) years of Engineering experience
    • Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical
    • Program PLC and HMI (including art work)
    • Design system communication network and security
    • Excellent oral and written skill

    Job Tasks:

    • Design controls for Generator plants to include switchgear, transfer switches, fuel system, support equipment and monitoring
    • PLC programming to include Siemens, GE, Allen Bradley, and Automation Direct
    • Design the interface screens and link all tags on Human Machine Interface
    • Calibrate PID circuits including governors and voltage regulators
    • Networking and Communication between electrical equipment components
    • Calibrate PID loops for generator loading, governor controls and voltage regulator controls
    • Assisting the sales department in Job Estimating and Quoting
    • Training customers on generator plant operations and maintenance
    • Troubleshooting failed electrical equipment – some as emergency response
    • Provide Technical Support to both PPSI technicians and customers
    • Equipment testing including circuit breaker, protective relays, generators and transfer switches

    Additional Skills:

    • Electrical safety to OSHA stands
    • Work in areas with voltages ranging from 480VAC to 35KV
    • Either completed or pursuing a Professional Engineers License

    Note:

    • Travel mainly within the Southeastern US with some national.
    • Some overnight travel may be required.
    • Task may require weekend or night / after-hours duties.
