The Opportunity
We’re hiring an Energy Department Manager to own team performance, inspection throughput, and the department P&L while spending ~20% of time on business development with developers, general contractors, and production builders. You’ll lead a ~15-person office + field team, collaborate across departments, and be mentored by the current leader ahead of retirement to ensure a smooth handoff.

What You’ll Do

• Lead people & operations (hiring, onboarding, coaching, accountability; weekly L10s; quarterly 1:1s).
• Own department P&L (budgeting, forecasting, margin, capacity planning).
• Drive throughput & quality (scheduling/dispatch, standard work, QA/QC, compliance).
• Build client relationships & revenue (~20% BD; expand existing accounts + add new logos).
• Partner across Engineering, Code/Plan Review, Survey, and company leadership.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 5+ years leading mixed office/field teams; servant-leader with strong people skills.
• Proven P&L or budget ownership and KPI/scorecard management (EOS experience a plus).
• Experience in energy services/green building/code compliance environments.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (management, engineering, construction, energy, or related).

Nice-to-Haves / Certifications
IECC, RESNET HERS Rater, ENERGY STAR (Single-Family), ICC/NGBS-700, Austin Energy Green Building (AEGB).

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary (DOE): $100,000–$150,000, Variable/Bonus (Target) 20–25% of base (OTE is not guaranteed; actual earnings vary with performance), On-Target Earnings (OTE): $120,000–$187,500 at plan

Work Model
Hybrid from our Austin HQ with periodic regional travel as needed.
