Job Overview:
We are hiring a dynamic, mission-driven Energy & Sales Engineer to work at the intersection of engineering and business development. This role will support and eventually lead customer conversations, drive technical assessments, and translate real-world building data into compelling insights on energy savings and indoor air quality improvements. You will report to the Director of Business Development.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional who thrives in both technical and client-facing environments and wants to grow into a leadership role by owning customer technical deep dives and site engagements.

- Conduct building walk-throughs with customer leadership and facilities staff in order to qualify sales opportunities and identify any potential challenges with implementation.
- Collect and catalog customer information, including technical documentation of building systems, historical data for air quality and HVAC operation, environmental site assessments, energy audits, contractor information, renovation history, etc.
- Support pre-sales engagements, including expos, networking events, and industry conferences.
- Collaborate on proposals and customer onboarding with the Sales and Operations teams.
Data Analysis & Energy Modeling
- Interpret mechanical drawings, utility data, and air quality sensor outputs to establish pre-installation baselines.
- Analyze building energy performance, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) trends, and carbon emissions post-installation to assess impact.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to refine our energy savings model and communicate outcomes to clients.
Project Scoping & Support
- Assist in defining scopes of work based on technical findings and customer objectives.
- Support the development of measurement & verification (M&V) protocols and documentation.

Industry Expertise
- Stay current on industry trends, green building certifications (e.g., LEED, WELL), and HVAC performance standards.
Qualifications:
Required
- 2-4 years of experience in a technical role (e.g., energy engineering, building performance analysis, mechanical/HVAC systems)
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, building energy use, and indoor air quality metrics
- Ability to interpret utility data, mechanical drawings, and control system outputs
- Experience using energy modeling tools, BMS/BAS platforms, and IAQ sensors

- Experience with measurement & verification (M&V) protocols for energy performance
- Experience working with or for Energy Service Companies (ESCOs), particularly in support of IGAs, performance contracts, or building retrofits
- Familiarity with green building certifications (e.g., LEED, WELL, Fitwel)
- Prior involvement in customer-facing roles such as technical sales, sales engineering, or solution engineering
- Familiarity with Excel Visual Basic, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker), or scripting tools for technical analysis (e.g., Python, R)
