  • Qualifications

    BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

    • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated maintenance electrician experience in an industrial setting.
    • 18 years or older.

     

    EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
    • 2 year Electronics or Electrical Associates Degree, preferred.
    • Ability to successfully complete skilled electrician assessment process.
    • Thorough knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
    • Experience working with low voltage VDC to 480 VAC.
    • Advanced computer experience; PLC programming experience.
    • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to read complex electrical schematics, blue prints and operating manuals.
    • Demonstrated organizational skills and detail orientation.
    • Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced/multi tasked manufacturing environment.
    • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to take direction from others, and to follow verbal or written instructions.
    • Ability to work well on own, as well as work well with and through others to accomplish goals.
    • Ability to successfully complete written and driving examination required to obtain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) operator license.
    • Willingness to participate in continuous training.
    • Ability to provide your own tools not provided by Graphic Packaging International.

     

    SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

    • 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends off. 
    • Ability to work overtime and plant holidays, as scheduled, and to work on alternate shifts to a facilitate training and to cover opposite shift.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without accommodation. This includes: Sitting, walking or standing for extended periods of time, up to 12-hours; Lifting to 50lbs; Carrying to 30 lbs.; Lowering to 30 lbs. from a height of 4 feet; Visual acuity and depth perception necessary to operator equipment, and to read computer screen or other electronic devices; Working in various temperatures & humidity levels; Working at heights to 30 feet.
