    SUMMARY – basic function of the role

    Reporting to the Global Tax Director, the International Tax Senior Manager is responsible for managing the U.S. international tax function for the Company. This position will include managing the international tax accounting and compliance processes, providing tax leadership in acquisitions and divestitures, and leading the design and implementation of tax planning strategies to optimize the U.S. GAAP effective tax rate and cash tax results.

     

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Support the development and implementation of global tax strategies that align with business planning, corporate strategy, and global footprint, in addition to reducing and maintaining the effective tax rate.
    • Review international aspects of the quarterly and annual tax provision in accordance with ASC 740.
    • Manage the annual U.S. international income tax compliance process.
    • Lead the calculation of the Company’s key U.S. international tax components including GILTI, Subpart F, Foreign Tax Credits, FDII and all other U.S. impacts of non-U.S. operations.
    • Advise and collaborate cross-functionally with Treasury, Finance, Accounting and Legal on matters such as restructurings, acquisitions, divestitures, cash repatriation, foreign currency matters, and tax process improvements.
    • Model and monitor the tax impact of legislative changes, planning opportunities and identified transactions.
    • Research complex tax issues for international tax planning, tax accounting, tax compliance and M&A.
    • Oversee the management of the Company’s transfer pricing positions and processes.
    • Assist in the international aspects of domestic audits.
    • Assists with the development, training, and performance of other tax department staff.

     

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

    • Knowledge and experience with standard office software such as Microsoft Office and online tax research services such as CCH, BNA or RIA. Ability to design efficient and effective spreadsheets as well as utilize current technology communications software. Knowledge and experience with Hyperion Enterprise and OneSource Income Tax software is desirable.

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Education Requirements:

    • Educational background with a focus on tax.
    • At least 8 years of U.S. tax compliance and financial reporting experience with a large public accounting firm or multinational corporation and at least 5 years focused on U.S. international taxation.
    • Masters Degree in Taxation (MST), JD or MBA is desirable.
    • Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.

     

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Demonstrated experience in U.S. international taxation including tax compliance, tax provision, legislation analysis, repatriation planning, and outbound issues (e.g. GILTI, BEAT, FTC, Sub F, etc.).
    • Experience managing cross-functional and cross-border tax projects.
    • Project management, communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills are required.
    • Prior experience with transfer pricing compliance and documentation is preferred.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Employee will have to be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations. Employee is able to work in front of a personal computer and telephone for long periods of time.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Primary work environment is temperature-controlled office setting, but may also include typical warehouse environment on occasion, where following appropriate safety protocols at the location would be required. Employee will be exposed to low levels of noise in an office.
