    Data is at the core of everything that Engage3 provides, and as an Applied Data Scientist for Engage3, you will be on the front lines of driving direct value to our customers and the organization.  You will be involved in all aspects of the data lifecycle, from data extraction and transformation to delivery to analysis and modeling. You will also have the opportunity to drive business impact by working with stakeholders and clients, where you will have a direct hand in shaping Engage3's retail data solutions.

    You should be able to demonstrate the ability to manage the entire lifecycle of modeling projects, from identifying requirements to working with the data (extracting, managing, modeling, visualizing) to using this data to make a case.  You should also have experience collaborating across organizational boundaries -- this Applied Data Scientist will be just as comfortable talking with a non-technical stakeholder about what this analysis means as they are collaborating with other team members and diving into the database.

    A successful Applied Data Scientist will:

    • Develops and deploys algorithms and data-driven products, combining advanced modeling techniques and domain expertise
    • Manages (extraction, transformation, validation) structured and unstructured data using state-of-the-art methods across multiple sources and rapidly-evolving architectures
    • Builds, maintains, delivers, and ultimately automates client-facing reports with high visibility
    • Works both independently with minimal guidance as well as collaboratively with remote teams; is able to take ownership of early-phase projects
    • Interacts directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, feedback
    • Balances multiple custom projects on short timelines with evolving priorities
    • Fields critical requests from clients expeditiously and with strong attention to detail
    • Collaborates with team members writing clean code with thorough testing and documentation; follows compliance standards for rolling out Production code

    ​Qualifications:

    • M.S. or Ph.D. in Engineering, Math, Finance, Computer Science, Physics, or other STEM field
    • OR Bachelors in Engineering, Math, Finance, Computer Science, Physics and related industry experience for 2-5 years in production/client-facing environments, with a focus on analytic products and projects
    • Minimum 2 years experience writing SQL scripts and dialects for analysis and reporting
    • Minimum 2 years experience using one or more programming languages (Python-preferred)
    • Minimum 1 year experience in advanced machine-learning methodologies, supervised and unsupervised learning
    • Minimum 1 year experience with Tableau or other visualization tools
    • Minimum 1 year experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
    • Experience with big data: acquisition, processing, filtering, and presenting large quantities (100K - 100M rows) of data.  Preferred ability to use parallelization with tools including Apache Spark, Hadoop, Python libraries
    • Experience presenting technical material in a non-technical context
    • Experience manipulating spreadsheets with Python or another scripting language
    • Experience with statistical tools (e.g. R) and analysis, regression modeling and forecasting, time series analysis
    • Experience deploying and integrating into production systems and data-driven products
    • Strong communication skills and ability to multi-task
