    Responsibilities

    Crowley is actively hiring an Engineer in our Wind Services - Cable Laying Barge. The current opening is with AMO however, you may be considered for another vessel within Crowley; which might require transitioning to a different union.

    Job Description

    The Engineer will be required to perform all duties which include, but are not limited to:

    • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
    • Control and maintains the equipment on the Cable Installation Spread (CIS).
    • Strong communication skills to ensure that operation is aligned with all departments.
    • Assist the Offshore Construction Manager in mobilization/demobilization and project preparations.
    • Understand the scope of the Cable Installation Project and review all project specific cable installation documentation.
    • Ensure the equipment achieves its highest level of performance during operations in accordance with the task plans, procedures and applicable requirements.
    • Operate the equipment as per manufacturers manuals and instructions.
    • Control operation of the main and loading tensioners, Winches, Length Buffer, Docking Module, Lane Shifters, Cable Selectors, CPS Lifts and Quadrant Handler, carousel and loading arm.
    • Ensure equipment is suitable for operation.
    • Oversee the take part in planned maintenance and complete maintenance records in coordination with the Chief Engineer.
    • Maintain daily maintenance, fault, and improvement log.

    Qualifications and Credentials

    • MMC-

      • Basic Training
      • VPDSD
      • Required STCW Endorsements and Training
      • QMED
    • STCW Medical Certificate – STCW Expiration Date is used

    • TWIC badge- Not to expire within three months

    • Valid Passport – Not to expire within six months

    Skills

    • Previous experience with cable installation (high voltage or fiber optic)
    • Industrial equipment operation experience
    • Solid Hydraulics
    • Diesel Generator

    Rotation

    • 30 days on/30 days off*

    *Sea Service may have limitations.

    This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Compensation, including hourly wages or salary, benefits, and other terms of employment, will be in accordance with the applicable union contract. Specific pay rates and benefits will be provided during the hiring process and are based on the terms outlined in the agreement.

  • Qualifications

    • 1+ year experience in the similar field or position
    • High school education with Bachelor or Associate degree preferred
    • Good communication, organization, and inter-personal skills a must. Ability to work under pressure and react quickly, ability to work with little or no supervision

    Working Conditions
    Office Environment – work is generally during traditional work hours however extreme circumstances may require work
    during non-traditional office hours
