The Engineer is responsible for maintaining all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for guests and associates. This includes performing routine maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance programs to uphold Wyndham brand standards and ensure operational efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance and repair of hotel equipment, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry tasks.
Conduct daily inspections of building systems, guest rooms, and public areas to identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
Respond quickly to guest and staff maintenance requests with professionalism and courtesy.
Maintain preventive maintenance logs and ensure timely completion of scheduled PMs on guest rooms and equipment.
Ensure compliance with safety, health, and fire regulations.
Maintain the appearance and operation of hotel facilities including lighting, paint, fixtures, and grounds.
Assist with emergency procedures such as fire alarms, evacuations, and power outages.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed for specialized repairs or inspections.
Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; submit requisitions when needed.
Support other departments when needed to ensure optimal guest satisfaction.
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Technical certification in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing preferred.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in hotel or facility maintenance.
Working knowledge of building systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
Ability to operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs and work in varying conditions (indoors/outdoors, heights, confined spaces).
Must be available to work flexible shifts including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
EPA Universal Certification for HVAC handling (preferred but not required).
Experience with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS) and Maintenance Tracking Systems.
Knowledge of OSHA and local building codes.
Stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
Perform manual labor tasks as needed.
Ability to respond to emergency calls during or after work hours.
