Position Summary:
The Engineering Assistant will provide critical support to the Lead Aerospace Engineer in the design, development, and coordination of aerospace systems and components. This position plays an important role in assisting with technical documentation, planning activities, inspection support, and cross-functional coordination with other departments such as Planning, Inspection, and Customer Support.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
· Assist the Lead Aerospace Engineer with the preparation, review, and organization of engineering documentation, including reports, inspection findings, and repair schemes.
· Support in gathering and organizing technical data and work instructions from customers and OEMs.
Planning & Coordination:
· Help coordinate with the Planning Department to generate and sequence non-routine (NR) tasks in alignment with project timelines and workflow milestones.
· Track task progress and provide status updates to the Lead Engineer.
Inspection & Reporting:
· Work closely with the Inspection team to document findings, support creation of inspection reports (including BSI reports), and ensure records are complete and properly filed.
· Assist in preparing engineering reports for discrepancies or conditions that fall outside standard repair documentation.
Customer & Team Interface:
· Participate in internal meetings and occasional customer support meetings to capture action items, document discussions, and follow up on deliverables.
· Support communication between Engineering and other departments (e.g., Planning, Inspection, Customer Support).
Tooling & Process Development:
· Assist in documenting tooling requirements and process development efforts in support of expanding LCI’s in-house capabilities.
Regulatory & Quality Support:
· Support the monitoring of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) data and Safety Management System (SMS) reports to identify trends.
· Ensure that all documentation meets internal quality standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
Training & Documentation:
· Help organize and maintain engineering training materials and records.
· Support internal training logistics and documentation review.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent technical experience).
1–3 years of experience in an aerospace, engineering, or manufacturing support role preferred.
Familiarity with aerospace MRO processes and terminology is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong attention to detail and excellent written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate across departments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a civil aviation MRO environment (FAA Part 145).
Familiarity with CFM56 and/or LEAP engine programs.
Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar).
Exposure to regulatory compliance requirements (FAA, EASA).
Basic understanding of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or Quality Systems.
