CONTRACT-TO-HIRE | ENGINEERING DESIGN TECHNICIAN | KCMO

A power solutions manufacturer is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the creation and revision of as-built drawings (AutoCAD) for electrical, mechanical, and software teams.

*This contract-to-hire role involves using AutoCAD to develop production-ready designs, collaborating cross-functionally, and ensuring documentation accuracy. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative energy solutions and transition into a permanent role.

• Anticipate $25-$32/hour, may go higher for the right candidate
• Onsite in KCMO, M-F, 40 hours per week (may be occasional remote work, TBD)
• Ideally, this person would be converted to FT employee (based on performance)

Key Responsibilities: 

• Create and revise 2D drawings and layouts using AutoCAD
• Develop as-built drawings, schematics, and assembly layouts/documentation for production and installation.
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and refine designs for standardized and custom products
• Maintain drawing files and documentation using version control (e.g., Autodesk Vault).
• Assist in troubleshooting design issues and provide timely updates based on feedback.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and support design review processes.

Qualifications: 

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design, or related field (preferred).
• 1+ years of experience in technical drafting and engineering design support.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (Electrical preferred)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and deadlines.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Autodesk Vault) is a plus.
