Great part-time opportunity for college students, semi-retirees, substitute teachers, student teachers. Engineering For Kids is an educational enrichment company that introduces children in grades K-8 to programming. 

 We are hiring additional smart, creative, dynamic Instructors to join our team delivering our great programs throughout Dane County area. This part-time position includes teaching daily after-school programs with some weekend birthday parties throughout the school year, and full day camp programs during the summer.



    Overview

    Engineering for Kids is looking for energetic and highly motivated people who enjoy working with kids, teaching them to be the next generation of engineers! As a lead teacher, you will be professionally trained on our curriculum and work closely with assistant teachers to facilitate programs. Former experience presenting to a group is preferred. Also, prior facilitation or training skills would be a plus. Working with the Director, the position also contributes to the development and implementation of class curriculum and management of the classroom. This position typically oversees Assistant Teachers. The Lead Teacher is generally responsible for teaching classes and class preparation, as well as assisting in the training of assistant teachers. Position starting Winter 2019.

    Suggested Duties and Responsibilities

    Manages the day-to-day operations of the classes. Prepares lessons, controls inventory, handles logistics while managing assistant teachers and students.

    Requirements

    have experience and enjoy working with children ages 4-14

    have reliable transportation

    be able to travel throughout Dane County (assignments less than 20 miles from residence)

    include address on resume

    have flexibility, excellent work ethic and be dependable

    have great organizational skills and be able to work independently

    enjoy math and science concepts

    experience presenting to a group, facilitation or training would be a plus

    Prior experience as an educator or pursuing a degree in the education or engineering field is also a plus

    pass a background check

    available M-F 2:15/3:00 PM - 5 PM at least 3 days a week
