    Engineering for Kids is looking for energetic and highly motivated people who enjoy working with kids and teaching them to be the next generation of engineers! We introduce kids ages 4 to 14 to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) through after-school programs, classes, camps, workshops, and birthday parties. We are seeking happy, fun and nurturing people to work with our students. Ability to present to children in a fun and nurturing way Critical thinking and problem solving Proven leadership skills Presentation and speaking skills Teachers & Assistant Teachers needed to work after school at schools throughout Dane County. We will provide on the job training.

    Description

    Engineering For Kids brings science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to preschool, elementary and middle school students in a fun and challenging way through classes, camp, clubs, and parties. We are proud to inspire children to build on their natural curiosity by teaching engineering concepts through hands-on learning. If you are interested in and have experience with hand-on programs, video game design or LEGO Robotics and enjoy working with children, then this is a great opportunity for you. This is a part-time position with flexible hours with opportunities during the school year and the summer.

    Requirements

    has experience and enjoy working with children

    has reliable transportation

    be able to travel throughout Dane County area (assignments less than 20 miles from residence)

    include address on resume

    has flexibility, excellent work ethic and be dependable has great organizational skills and be able to work independently

    must have experience with video game design or computer programming

    has experience with game design software such as Multimedia Fusion 2 or Flash a plus

    has experience with Lego Mindstorm and Lego WeDo

    has experience presenting to a group, facilitation or training would be a plus

    Prior experience as an educator or completing a degree in the education or engineering field is also a plus

    pass a background check

    available M-F 2:15 - 5PM at least 2 days a week

    This is a part-time hourly position, 5-15 hours/week during school year, more during summer.
