Job Summary

Carries out engineering assignments concerned with the planning and design of composite radome components and assembly. Designs and develops radomes and composite structures for airborne, sea and land based platforms. Interfaces with manufacturing engineers, designers/drafters, electrical engineers and operations personnel to develop new products and reduce manufacturing cost on existing production radomes. Performs drawing reviews from Drafters/Designers. Supports Engineers for simple to medium level complexity projects.

_Essential Duties & Responsibilities _

• Design and development of complex composite structures, both directly and providing oversight across internal/external work packages. Assists the lead with the technical approach/input to the development of leading edge composites manufacturing processes and material selection.

• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be enrolled in an accredited engineering program in either Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering. Experience with composite materials and processes. Works under constant supervision performs assignments of mild complexity and assists other Engineers.

• Working knowledge of both traditional and new manufacturing techniques for fiber reinforced plastic and thermoplastic materials is a plus.

**Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment: **

• Position involves sitting, standing and/or walking

• Position requires ability to frequently exert up to 10 pounds of force to move objects and occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to move objects

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; ear protection occasionally required

• Work usually performed in air-conditioned office and factory environment

Required Experience

• 1+ year experience in the similar field or position
• High school education with Bachelor or Associate degree preferred
• Good communication, organization, and inter-personal skills a must. Ability to work under pressure and react quickly, ability to work with little or no supervision

Working Conditions
Office Environment – work is generally during traditional work hours however extreme circumstances may require work
during non-traditional office hours
