    Job Description

    AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Philadelphia on October 9-10, 2025. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026.

    The event kicks off on Thursday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm , where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.

    On Friday, interviews will take place at our Philadelphia office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.

    AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern to be based in Philadelphia, PA.

    This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2026.

    Internships at AECOM offer students in undergraduate and graduate programs the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in engineering, design, and infrastructure projects that make a real-world impact.     The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Assist with design tasks, including:
      • Preliminary to final design calculations
      • Development of design plans
    • Review field information and potentially perform field inspections of existing facilities
    • Perform duties aligned with those of an entry-level graduate engineer
    • Demonstrate enthusiasm, adaptability, and a strong sense of personal responsibility
    • Apply technical training to perform basic engineering calculations
    • Collaborate effectively within a team setting
    • Commit to diligently learning new skills
    • Possess strong computer literacy and a proven ability to learn quickly
    • Adapt to short-term assignments while maintaining focus on long-term projects
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Candidates must pursue a bachelor’s degree in environmental/civil engineering or in another related field and must have completed three (3) or more years of study. Candidates who have graduated with a bachelor’s degree and are currently or planning to continue with their master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Graduates not pursuing a master’s degree must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term.
    • Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Completed university courses in water treatment (Fluid Mechanics, Water Resources, Hydrology, Environmental Chemistry).
    • Pursuing Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE).
    • GIS and CAD skills.
    • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software.
    • Ability to work productively in a team environment.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Self-learner.
