    Engineering Lab Technician

    Location: Milford, IN
    Department: Engineering
    Reports To: Engineering Technician Manager
    Schedule: Full-time, 8-hour shifts (some overtime as needed)

    Role Overview

    Work alongside engineers to prototype and develop new and improved products for the poultry industry. This hands-on role involves operating manufacturing equipment, testing prototypes, and supporting lab functions with a focus on safety, quality, and innovation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Set up and operate lab equipment (hydraulic brake press, mill, lathe, water jet, 3D printer, etc.)
    • Develop products from engineering concepts and drawings
    • Conduct tests, record data, and assist in product/process improvement
    • Handle materials and use hand/power tools safely
    • Maintain clean, organized work areas and perform preventive maintenance
    • Communicate effectively with engineers, vendors, and customers
    • Support production areas and travel to job sites (up to 10%) as needed

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
    • Prior factory or prototype experience preferred
    • Basic computer skills (Excel, LabVIEW, Oracle)
    • Forklift license required
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (stand, bend, reach, kneel, etc.)
