OVERVIEW: SILTT is seeking a senior, hands-on Engineering Lead to own the delivery of engineering services across telecommunications facilities and critical infrastructure projects. This is a working leadership role that requires direct technical contribution in a core engineering discipline while also leading and managing SILTT’s engineering team. The Engineering Lead serves as the single point of accountability for engineering support to our Customers, including participation in design reviews, commissioning engineering activities, and limited field technical support. In parallel, the role is responsible for shaping, scaling, and managing engineering resources in alignment with evolving project and program demand. This position requires immediate engagement, comfort working in the details, and leadership by example; it is not a supervisory-only or advisory role.

WHO WE ARE: At SILTT we’re pushing the limits of infrastructure innovation in the Telecommunications and Information Technology industry. From delivering world-class modular data center facilities to all-hours, 365-day operational response and disaster recovery, our multi-functional team of experts are force multipliers across the infrastructure landscape. We pride ourselves in leading from the front to advise, assist, and accompany our clients through their toughest technological and operational challenges. We always deliver results (we spell it “re-SILTTs”)!

WHY SILTT? At SILTT, “objective-driven” means first being “people-driven”. As a small business we know that the ability to achieve our mission demands we take care of our own by providing our team members with a variety of benefits that allow them to live fulfilling, healthy, balanced, meaningful lives. That’s why we believe in offering paid healthcare, ultra-competitive 401K matching, accrued paid time off and fixed holiday leave, continuous learning and professional development incentives, and promote a sustainable work-life balance.

A CALL TO ACTION: As SILTT continues to grow in our level of support to critical infrastructure, we are looking for a capable and driven Engineering Lead to support the design and delivery of high-performance data center and telecommunications facilities. This role will contribute to a wide range of efforts to include early planning and site layout studies to technical drawing development, site-adapt reviews, coordination with engineering disciplines, and construction-phase field support. The Engineering Lead will be instrumental in ensuring that design solutions are practical, buildable, and aligned with the realities of fast-paced, complex project delivery.

A DAY IN THE LIFE: In this role, you will lead SILTT’s engineering function within the Build Division while remaining directly involved in technical delivery. You will serve as the primary point of contact for engineering support to our Customers and coordinate engineering engagement across multiple projects and customer design leads. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Serve as the functional lead for all SILTT Build Division engineering resources, including assigning work, setting priorities, reviewing technical output, and providing day-to-day direction and oversight across disciplines.

Act as a technical resource for SILTT project and regional management teams, providing guidance and support on complex or unfamiliar technical issues as they arise during design, construction, or commissioning.

Personally perform and/or lead design reviews in your core discipline, supporting site-adapt and localization efforts as global or reference designs are adjusted for local conditions, permitting requirements, and constructability constraints.

Coordinate closely with architectural, structural, MEP, civil, and low-voltage disciplines to ensure design integration, system compatibility, and alignment with construction and commissioning requirements.

Participate in and support design coordination meetings with customer design leads, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams.

Support construction-phase activities, including review of submittals and RFIs, technical clarifications, and field-driven design changes as required.

Lead or support commissioning engineering efforts, including development, review, and maintenance of L1–L5 commissioning scripts for applicable systems and equipment.

Support factory and field testing activities, including selective travel to witness FAT or FWT, document results, and prepare technical trip reports.

Identify gaps in engineering capacity, support recruiting and on-boarding of additional engineering or technical resources, and continuously right-size the team based on project and program demand.

Contribute to the development and refinement of engineering standards, templates, tools, and best practices to improve consistency and execution across projects.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture (Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, Civil, or related discipline required).

Minimum 10 years of progressive experience supporting the design, construction, and/or commissioning of technically complex facilities such as telecommunications infrastructure, data centers, industrial facilities, or similar mission-critical environments.

Demonstrated experience serving as a hands-on technical lead, including direct participation in design reviews, technical problem solving, and coordination across multiple engineering disciplines.

Proven ability to lead and manage engineering resources, including assigning work, setting priorities, reviewing technical output, and providing technical direction and mentorship.

Experience supporting site-adapt or localization design efforts, including interpretation of reference or canonical designs and alignment with local conditions, codes, and constructability constraints.

Working knowledge of construction-phase engineering support, including submittal reviews, RFI responses, field-driven design changes, and technical coordination with contractors.

Experience supporting commissioning activities, including development or review of test procedures, participation in FAT/FWT or similar testing activities, and documentation of results.

Ability to act as a technical escalation resource for project and regional management teams when issues exceed general construction or project management expertise.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with customers, designers, contractors, and internal leadership.

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on a limited, as-needed basis.

Working experience with common design, document management, and project collaboration software used in construction and engineering environments.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Professional licensure (PE, RA, or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or demonstrated experience working in environments where licensed engineers serve as Engineer of Record.

Experience supporting global or multi-region programs, including coordination across different regulatory environments, design standards, and project delivery models.

Prior experience acting as a player-coach or working engineering manager within a lean or growing organization.

Familiarity with telecommunications infrastructure or data center facilities, including high-availability systems, redundancy concepts, and mission-critical operational requirements.

Experience developing or standardizing commissioning procedures, test scripts, or technical checklists across multiple projects or equipment types.

Experience providing technical support to construction management or regional management teams, including troubleshooting field issues and advising on constructability or sequencing challenges.

Working knowledge of digital design and construction platforms (e.g., Revit, ACC, Bluebeam, or similar tools) used for design coordination, document management, and technical review.

Experience participating in factory acceptance testing (FAT), field witness testing (FWT), or similar verification activities.

Demonstrated ability to help build, scale, or formalize an engineering function, including participation in hiring, on-boarding, and development of junior or mid-level engineers.

Familiarity with specific platforms such as Bluebeam and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS: Partially Remote. Travel is limited and as needed. Occasional travel may be required to support factory or field testing, manufacturer visits, customer meetings, or short project site visits to assist with technical issue resolution or coverage gaps.

SILTT is on a quest for professionals with diverse experiences, backgrounds, views, and talents. It’s our belief that innovation and inspiration come from passionate people that challenge each other’s biases and can communicate effectively through conflict as one team. We hire based on performance and merit… and nothing else.

Flexible work from home options available.
