Civil Engineering Project Manager – Land Development Focus

    Winter Park, Florida |  Full-timeOn-site

Are you a Civil Engineer looking to take the next step in your career — managing complex land development projects from concept to completion?

W’re seeking a Project Engineering Manager with a civil engineering background to lead multi-disciplinary teams, oversee technical execution, and deliver projects that shape our communities. This is a hands-on leadership role where your engineering expertise will directly impact project quality, client satisfaction, and team success.

You’ll join a firm with over 30 years of industry leadership, where innovation, integrity, and collaboration are at the core of everything we do.

This position reports directly to the Director of Land Production.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage the full lifecycle of multiple land development and civil infrastructure projects.

    • Create project scopes, timelines, and budgets, and ensure alignment with client goals.

    • Coordinate engineering staff, field crews, and CAD/drafting teams to execute project plans.

    • Conduct QA/QC reviews of plans and deliverables to meet internal and regulatory standards.

    • Lead design efforts for boundary surveys, plats, topographic surveys, and construction layout.

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients — providing updates, solving problems, and building trust.

    • Guide and mentor junior engineers and technical staff; support hiring and onboarding.

    Day-to-Day Activities

    • Collaborate with drafters, field techs, and engineers to move projects forward.

    • Attend internal and client-facing project meetings to review milestones and resolve challenges.

    • Review and comment on technical drawings, calculations, and field data.

    • Update schedules and budgets, and report project progress to leadership.

    • Ensure documentation and files are accurate, organized, and ready for reuse.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (required).

    • PE license (or EIT with clear path to licensure) strongly preferred.

    • 5+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering or land development.

    • Expertise in surveying principles, site design, grading, platting, and construction support.

    • Strong command of engineering standards, codes, and permitting requirements.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet).

    • Skilled in reviewing and interpreting CAD drawings and field notes.

    • Confident communicator and capable team leader.

    What We’re Looking For

    • A civil engineer who thrives in leadership roles and cross-functional team environments.

    • A problem-solver who can navigate technical complexity and client expectations.

    • A detail-oriented project manager who values precision, deadlines, and quality.

    • Someone excited to innovate, improve systems, and grow professionally in a team that values initiative.

Why is this  a good opportunity?  Our client belives that engineers should lead — not just design. For over three decades, we've built a reputation for delivering high-quality work with integrity, collaboration, and a commitment to community impact. You’ll be part of a culture that encourages growth, rewards performance, and celebrates teamwork.
