  • Responsibilities

    The hotel engineering supervisor leads the daily maintenance and operations of a property's physical plant. They manage maintenance staff, execute preventative maintenance programs, troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, and ensure safety code compliance to guarantee optimal guest satisfaction. Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Administration • Supervise, train, and schedule daily maintenance staff and technicians. • Manage work order systems and assign tasks, ensuring guest-related service requests are resolved rapidly (typically within 30 minutes). • Control department inventory, spare parts, and tools to minimize waste. Maintenance & Operations • Oversee the repair and maintenance of HVAC systems, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical networks. • Develop and execute routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs to prevent equipment breakdowns. • Conduct daily property and mechanical room walks to catch maintenance issues early. Safety & Compliance • Ensure full compliance with OSHA regulations, building codes, and life safety standards. • Conduct life safety checks, including fire-pump tests, generator tests, and sprinkler/alarm inspections. • Develop disaster response protocols and ensure the team is trained in emergency procedures. Qualifications: • Experience: Typically requires 2-5 years of hands-on building maintenance or engineering experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role. • Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of trades like HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. • Systems: Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or Guest Experience Platforms. • Soft Skills: Problem-solving under pressure, strong organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate with other hotel departments. Compensation: $22 - $23 hourly
