Engineering Technician – Aerospace Medical Research Support
Business Staffing of America, Inc. is seeking a skilled Engineering Technician to support ongoing aerospace medical research and safety initiatives at a federal research facility in Oklahoma City, OK. This role provides hands-on technical assistance to engineering and research teams working on equipment, prototypes, and laboratory systems that advance aviation safety and human performance research.
The Engineering Technician will assist engineers and scientists with the design, construction, testing, and maintenance of research equipment and prototypes. This position involves troubleshooting and calibrating devices, collecting and analyzing data, and ensuring that laboratory and research environments remain safe, compliant, and efficient.
Support engineers in the design, development, and testing of technical solutions and research equipment.
Inspect, modify, and maintain existing designs, prototypes, and experimental systems.
Perform research, data collection, and documentation to support ongoing studies.
Operate and troubleshoot various engineering tools and laboratory instruments.
Run diagnostics, tests, and calibrations ; record and interpret technical results.
Use modeling and design software to draft or update prototypes based on team feedback.
Conduct technical investigations and experiments in collaboration with engineers and researchers.
Analyze operations and make recommendations for process or design improvements.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain an organized, safe work environment.
Provide technical support and coordination with government engineering staff and other project personnel.
Education: Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or a closely related field.
Experience:
1 year with a Master's degree
4 years with a Bachelor's degree
5+ years with an Associate's degree
Skills & Abilities:
Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with modeling and design software (e.g., CAD tools)
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and documentation
Effective communication under pressure and in team settings
Knowledge of engineering terminology and lab safety procedures
Relevant certifications or licenses preferred
Location: Onsite in Oklahoma City, OK
Schedule: Monday through Friday, between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM (standard hours 8:00 AM–4:30 PM)
Holidays: No work on federal holidays or other federally designated non-work days
